Potential Tropical Cyclone One became Tropical Storm Alex around 2AM this morning. This is the first named storm of the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season. A well defined center developed, and sustained wind speeds strengthened to 50 mph once the storm entered into the Atlantic. Alex has strengthened further, with sustained winds at 70 MPH. That is just 5 MPH less than being classified as a Category 1 Hurricane. Alex isn’t likely to get to that level, however it is possible. Other than Bermuda on Monday, Alex will not be impacting land. It will track across the Atlantic until Thursday as a weak tropical storm.
