Storms are likely today with some being severe, so you’ll want to keep your eye on the weather throughout the day. Expect mostly cloudy skies to start as temperatures climb into the low 80s. It’ll be humid too, so stay hydrated as all the atmospheric moisture provides fuel for incoming storms. We expect the main line of strong thunderstorms to roll through during the early afternoon. Western counties could see storms as early as 1pm while Augusta will mostly likely see them around 3pm. That’s why The Masters has moved up tee times to early this morning and are running guys off the first and tenth tees. Hopefully all of the golf will be done and patrons will be to their cars before storms get here. If storms arrive early, make sure you take shelter immediately and don’t get caught outside. We’re expecting damaging winds, large hail, and plenty of lightning. Make sure you stay tuned for updates with WJBF on-air and online.
Tonight, the storms will start to fade out and we’ll be back to beautiful spring weather. Monday will see a high in the mid 70s with sunny skies and a breeze. We’ll keep the sunshine through the middle of the week as highs slowly climb. We’ll be back in the 80s with partly sunny skies on Thursday before showers and storms move back into the region on Friday and Saturday.
