Malcolm Mitchell makes another CSRA visit to read his children’s book, says another book is ‘in the works’

While he’s busy preparing for the NFL Draft, former UGA wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell is still making time to read his children’s book across the state of Georgia.

Today, he was back in the CSRA to read his book, “The Magician’s Hat’ to students at Riverside Elementary School and patients at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. About a month and a half ago, Mitchell also read his book to students in Thomson.

Mitchell says he didn’t enjoy the magic of reading until college, so he wants to teach kids the power of reading at a young age.

“I want to just encourage kids to motivate them to read,” he said. “I think through my personal experience I’ve learned how much it’s helped me reach my potential and still reach for it.”

Mitchell plans to still continue these reading trips once he’s playing in the NFL.

He also wants to keep writing children’s books and said he has one ‘in the works’ right now.
