South Aiken tops North Augusta, will play for 4A state championship

The South Aiken High School girls soccer team is heading back to the 4A state championship game.

The Thoroughbreds defeated North Augusta 5-0 in the Lower State Finals at the Stomping Grounds on Monday night.

South Aiken will get a chance for revenge, as well as a title shot. Their state championship oppponent, Eastside, eliminated the T-Breds in the Lower State Finals a year ago. South Aiken won the state championship the year prior.

The T-Breds will go for their second title in three years against Eastiside on Friday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Irmo High School in Columbia.
