AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) — A.J. Green has been a Pro Bowler in all five of his seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. Prior to that, the Summerville, South Carolina native was an All-American wide receiver with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Wednesday night, Green was in Augusta to represent his alma mater. He was the keynote speaker at the Augusta Bulldog Club’s annual kickoff event at the Legends Club.
“They gave me the opportunity to be in this position where I am today, so it’s only right I can return the favor and do something, a little something to help them out,” Green said. “They did so much for me and it’s just a blessing and an honor.”
Green is giving back to UGA in several ways. He and his wife Miranda announced last November they will be awarding three scholarships annually to UGA students in need of financial aid.
