Augusta’s Trick Shot Artist Earns PGA Tour Card After 2nd Web.com Tour Victory

In his first season on the Web.com Tour, Augusta resident Wesley Bryan has already won two tournaments in six starts, which earns him PGA Tour status for the 2016-17 season.

“I mean, it’s crazy” Bryan told me Monday afternoon. “If you had told me that I would’ve already won twice and locked up my PGA Tour card at this time of the year, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Obviously, I feel really fortunate — been playing some good golf.”

Bryan was already well-known in the golf world for Bryan Bros Golf, his collection of trick shot golf videos with his older brother George. Now, the 26-year-old is making a name for himself as a rising professional golfer.

“I guess it just gives me a little more credibility,” he said. “I mean, it’s satisfying knowing that most the golf world didn’t know me as a golfer before the trick shot stuff, so I guess it feels pretty satisfying knowing that I can compete on this level and go play the next.”

If Bryan wins a third Web.com Tour event this season, he can immediately start playing on the PGA Tour instead of having to wait until the start of next season.
