UPDATE: Two men arrested in Tucker Avenue murder

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WJBF) – Two men are in jail tonight after a murder in Waynesboro, Georgia.

Kalvin Smith, Jr., 18 and Rodriquez Herndon, 17 were charged today in the shooting death of Paul Golden, III.

Both are charged with one count of murder. Golden was found shot to death at a home on Tucker Avenue earlier this month.

The suspects are being held at the Burke County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WJBF) – The GBI has released the name of the victim of this morning’s deadly shooting in Waynesboro.

35-year-old Paul Golden III was found shot at 7:10 Monday morning at a residence on the 700 block of Tucker Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Golden’s body has been transported to the GBI Office for an autopsy.

The case is being considered a homicide.

Authorities say it happened this morning on Tucker Avenue inside the city limits.

The name of the victim has not been released.

No word yet if a suspect is in custody.

We’re told the Burke County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
