A woman arrested for illegal drugs hid seven baggies of suspected heroin on herself and tried to destroy the evidence by eating it, Lancaster police said.
Tiffany Root, 29, of Ephrata, was taken into custody for the drugs after a traffic stop Tuesday and was found to have concealed additional controlled substances on and in her person. She was taken to a hospital to have the drugs removed, but she tried to swallow the suspected heroin while en-route to the hospital, police said in a news release.
Hospital staff convinced Root to spit out the drugs and the baggies of suspected heroin were recovered, police said.
Root is charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, methamphetamine, and five different types of prescription drugs. She additionally is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and driving with a suspended license.
