AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – The two suspects in Tuesday’s shooting in Jackson, which led to a major drug bust, have been named.

44-year-old Alexis Falcon and 24-year-old Jose Leyva, both of Miami, are charged with Trafficking Marijuana.

The investigation began with a shooting in Jackson and has developed into a drug trafficking investigation across two states.

According to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, Falcon and Leyva were shot on the 18000 block of Atomic Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. After the two men were transported to an area hospital for treatment, investigators discovered a large amount of fresh cut marijuana in the rear of the vehicle the men were driving.

Investigators were lead to a home located in the 18000 block of Atomic Rd where the shooting incident began. A search warrant was obtained by Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Investigators for the home. They found the house was protected by multiple booby traps and dangerous obstacles that had to be dismantled. Inside the house was a cache of marijuana plants and cultivating equipment. All were approximately valued at $300,000.

The investigation is still ongoing.
