Suspect identified in connection with deadly Burke Co. shooting

UPDATE (Tuesday, September 25, 9:01pm) – The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in connection with last weekend’s deadly shooting at Magnolia Acres Apartments.
James Abrams, Jr., 22, is wanted for obstruction and interference with a crime scene. If you know where he may be or have any information call the Criminal Investigations Division of the Burke County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 554-2133.

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WJBF) – We now know the victim’s name in a Burke County murder.
The sheriff’s office confirms Ronald Henry David was killed this weekend.
It happened around 1 a.m. on near the Magnolia Acres Apartments.
Marion Leon Hamilton Jr. is facing several charges, including murder.
Deputies say David was found with several gunshot wounds and taken to the hospital.
But, the 35-year-old was pronounced dead when he arrived.
There is no word on a motive at this time.  

Waynesboro, Ga.  (WJBF)- A murder suspect in the Burke County jail. Marion Leon Hamilton, Jr. is accused of shooting and killing a 35-year-old man.

The victim was found with several gunshot wounds near the Magnolia Acres apartments around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

He was taken to the hospital, but pronounced dead at arrival.

Hamilton was arrested shortly after, at a convenience store.

He is facing 1st Degree Murder and gun charges.

The victim has not been identified yet.
