Thieves use truck to try to steal ATM from Orangeburg County store

NORTH, S.C. (WJBF) – Authorities are searching for the people responsible for crashing a vehicle into a local store.

The incident happened on Friday, November 23 just before 4 a.m. at the Family Dollar on Savannah Highway in the Town of North. 

Investigators say two people crashed a 1987 blue Chevrolet Silverado truck into the doors of the business. 

“The suspects were trying to detach the ATM Machine from the floor using the truck,” authorities said in a Facebook post.

The truck was found to be stolen from a local resident just prior to the burglary.
