An attorney for a South Carolina sheriff facing 14 criminal counts wants a judge to throw out some of the charges because the indictments are too vague.

Will Lewis is suspended as Greenville County sheriff.

Prosecutors say Lewis used public resources to carry on an affair.

His lawyer says the indictment doesn’t specify what money or material Lewis used.

Lewis’ lawyer also says another indictment doesn’t specify what law was broken when Lewis was accused of failing to do a background check.
