SC Forestry crews on standby to help battle California wildfires

South Carolina News

As dozens of crews battle those California wildfires, firefighters in South Carolina are on stand-by.

The state’s Forestry Commission helps monitor and regulate forest lands in the Palmetto State.

The Commission conducts prescribed burns year round, to minimize things like pine straw and debris that would help spread the wildfire.

Right now crews are on standby, and there is also a signup sheet for firefighters willing to take the trip.
