Deputies have arrested a man and seized 63 pounds of methamphetamine after a traffic stop on Interstate 85 in Anderson County.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says their Criminal Interdiction Unit stopped a Chevrolet Suburban along I-85 for a traffic offense around 1:20pm on Friday, April 12.
When the deputy approached the SUV, the driver and passenger tried to run from the vehicle. The passenger was detained but the driver was able to escape before more deputies arrived.
While searching the SUV, deputies found a duffel bag full of large bundles wrapped in brown tape. They also say they found more bundles in the back of the SUV.
39 total packages were found which contained 63 pounds of methamphetamine.
25-year-old Felipe Acedo Medina was arrested and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine.
