38 S.C. school districts awarded funding to hire new school resource officers

38 South Carolina school districts have been awarded funding to hire new school resource officers. The funding is part of a $2 million grant passed by state lawmakers in 2018.

It allows districts to hire certified law enforcement officers that they could not afford.

Otherwise, districts in our area received the funds including Allendale, Bamberg, Edgefield, and McCormick.
