Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office officials said deputies are searching for a man wanted for murder after two adult bodies were found buried on a property in Spartanburg County on Friday.
According to Coroner Rusty Clevenger, his office responded to a home in the 100 block of Williams Street Friday afternoon.
Clevenger said his office dug up the two bodies on the property.
According to Clevenger, cadaver dogs led them to the two adult bodies that were buried near each other in about 18-inch graves located in the backyard of the home on Williams Street.
Clevenger said it appears that the bodies have been on the property less than a year or two.
The coroner’s office has identified one of the victims as 27-year-old Christin Renee Bunner of Spartanburg.
According to a missing persons poster from March 2, Bunner had been missing since December 2018.
The second victim has been identified as 40-year-old Melissa Fairlee Rhymer of Mountville, South Carolina.
Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said deputies are currently searching for Jonathan Galligan, 39, who is wanted on at least one warrant charging him with murder in this case.
Wright said Galligan is also known as “Stretch” and is 6-foot-8 inches tall and has tattoos.
According to Wright, Galligan was working at a local junkyard and was last seen being dropped off on Asheville Highway near Hearon Circle.
Wright said deputies were tipped off the other night by someone in the sheriff’s office’s custody, and brought out the cadaver dogs to search the property.
