Columbia, SC – Some voters say they were confused about names that did not belong on the South Carolina primary ballot.
Only six candidates were competing in the GOP nomination, but twice as many names were listed.
Twelve Republicans were running when the ballots were printed. Since then, six have dropped out.
There were signs at precincts informing voters of updated candidate names, but people could still cast their ballot for any of the republicans listed.
The State Election Commission says it only counted totals for the six remaining candidates.
