ALLENDALE, South Carolina (WJBF) – More details on the Allendale shooting that wounded a bystander early Wednesday evening and is currently being investigated by SLED.

According to Lawrence Wiggins, the Allendale Chief of Police, the Allendale Police Department responded to multiple emergency calls Wednesday from two different locations across the street from one another between 6:00 and 6:05 P.M.

Chief Wiggins adds that while investigating multiple shots fired at Patterson Trailer Park, the department was also called across the street to Allendale Manor Apartments at South Main Street in response to a victim with a gunshot wound, and that victim was critically wounded and transported by ambulance to a regional trauma center.

According to authorities, as of now, the victim is now in stable condition.

Authorities say they believe that the victim was struck by a stray bullet from the shooting across the street, and that the victim was not the intended target.

According to Chief Wiggins, a suspect has been arrested and detained.

ALLENDALE, S.C. (WJBF) – South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating a shooting in Allendale.

Details are limited, but we do know the incident happened Wednesday night at an unknown location.

Authorities say at least one person was shot and one person is in custody.
