Augusta, GA- In keeping true to his pledge to revitalize South Augusta, Mayor Hardie Davis announces a national company will be making its move to South Augusta.
Preston Sizemore, President and CEO of Sizemore, Inc. along with Mayor Davis, announced the company will be locating its national headquarters along a stretch of Gordon Highway. The employment staffing and janitorial services company, purchased five acres of land in the area that includes the former Gerald Jones Auto Dealership to be the future home of Sizemore’s corporate offices.
On the reason behind choosing the South Augusta location Sizemore says, “We believe that with the Cyber Command coming to Fort Gordon and the Mayor’s commitment to revitalize the area will result in the Gordon Highway corridor becoming a vital part of our community as well as providing our current employees and those seeing jobs better access to us.”
Mayor Davis congratulated the company on its leadership during Friday’s announcement saying, “Today’s announcement makes it clear that Sizemore is committed to Augusta-Richmond County by maintaining its corporate headquarters and its local operations here.” “Sizemore’s investment in the Gordon Highway corridor demonstrates their leadership and foresight as this area begins to experience resurgence and growth.”
The target date that would move the location to the Gordon Highway site is spring of 2017. Work to renovate the 30,000 square foot building will start in the near future and will be in compliance with the U. S. Green Building Council’s Leed rating system. The ratings represent the company’s commitment to having the least negative impact on the environment with its construction and operations.
