SCEMD says it’s time to prepare for severe winter weather

SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – The South Carolina Emergency Management Division says this is the time to start preparing for severe winter weather.

The state’s biggest threat is ice which can bring down power lines.

EMA officials say it’s smart to create a plan allowing you to survive without power for at least 72 hours.

That means you’ll need batteries, warm clothing, and possibly even an alternate heat source.
