S.C. troops will soon deploy to Afghanistan


SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – After President Trump’s speech on Afghanistan, some South Carolina troops will be deploying.

Around 60 South Carolina Army National Guard soldiers will head to their Texas training station for one month today.

After training, they’ll be heading to Afghanistan.

While deployed, they will provide helicopter aviation support.

The deployment is scheduled to last about one year.
