S.C. lawmaker pre-files a bill to protect abused adults

SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – A South Carolina lawmaker wants to make sure anyone convicted of abusing a vulnerable adult doesn’t have the chance to do it again.

Representative Gary Smith pre-filed the bill earlier this month.

It would create a registry to keep track of those convicted.

It would also allow anyone to look up a person by their name and see what prior convictions that they have.
