HEPHZIBAH, Ga (WJBF) – Augusta Fire rescue is breaking ground for the 20th fire station.
The site for the new station is located on Old Highway One in Hephzibah.
It is the first expansion of a fire station in the past 25 years.
Chief Christopher James says it was appropriate to start building it with the growth in south Augusta.
Construction should be complete in about a year.
