AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Serial killer Reinaldo Rivera is claiming he’s innocent in the murders of two women he originally confessed to killing.
His attorney filed a motion in U.S. District Court this week.
In the documents, Rivera says his trial defense team failed to present evidence that he didn’t murder Tiffany Wilson and Marni Glista. The motion also says Rivera falsely confessed to murdering both women.
Another motion requests that some court documents be sealed from the public because other possible suspects of the murders could be named.
Rivera was convicted in 2004 in the murder of Glista. Investigators say he admitted to the murders of three other women.
He was convicted of three counts of Rape, four counts of Aggravated Sodomy, four counts of Aggravated Assault, Burglary and Possession of a Knife.
Rivera is on death row in a state prison in Jackson, Georgia.
