COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A man arrested this week in Columbia County has been identified as an escapee from Columbia, South Carolina.
26-year-old Santonio Dwayne Ramsey was arrested following a fight with woman near a home on the 6400 block of Cobbham Road in Appling.
Ramsey was taken into custody following a physical altercation with the responding deputy.
After giving the deputy a false ID, he was identified by a South Carolina Drivers License found in his sock.
It was then discovered that Ramsey was an escapee from Alston Wilkes Federal Correction Facility in Columbia.
He also has outstanding warrants in McDuffie County for obstruction and fleeing and attempting to elude.
