Pedestrian struck in Aiken, driver charged

UPDATE:

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – Lieutenant Jake Mahoney with Aiken Public Safety has provided an update on the victim and details on the incident.

We’re told three pedestrians attempted to cross Richland Avenue from Aiken Drug to Plum Pudding when one of them was struck by a 2015 Dodge Ram van.

The pedestrians had the right of way.

The driver has been charged with Failure to Yield Right of Way.

The injured pedestrian was taken to Augusta University Medical Center.


AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident where one person has been hit by a car.

It happened before noon on the corner of Richland Avenue and Laurens Street.
