It’s a magical time of year as kids get ready to dress up and go trick or treating. But dressing for Halloween is not just for pets anymore.
Susan Spendadel is a pet lover but she’s only a little into the Halloween pet costume thing.
“For about five minutes to take a picture and then they’re out we don’t walk them around with a costume they get embarrassed,” Susan said.
But Halloween is for the hounds or at least their owners, and if you want to dress your pet up for Halloween there’s a costume to do it.
“It gives the pet parent a nice smile and they’re happy for it,” said Kitty Upshaw who works at Pet Smart.
“That’s the best thing.”
“Correct,” said Kitty.
People like pet costumes, in fact Americans are planning to spend $350 million dollars putting Halloween costumes on pets.
“That’s another good reason not to put them in a costume,” said Susan.
But others can’t wait to get their dog in the Halloween spirit,
“This is our first year for her this is our first Halloween,” said Andrea Horton with her dog Harlee Rain.
“You got a costume picked out already,
“A witch”she said.
Your pet can be a witch, or an elephant, a bumble bee or a teddy bear or they can go as food like pizza, a taco or sushi.
So you may or may not be into dressing up the pet for Halloween that’s okay another holiday is right around the corner. Out there somewhere in North Augusta George Eskola WJBF NewsChannel six .
