Ordering food through app raises money for local food bank

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Do you like to eat at Chick-fil-A? Do you like to help out with great causes? An ongoing collaboration provides an opportunity to take part in both in the Augusta-Aiken area.

All of the Augusta-Aiken area Chick-fil-A restaurants, except for the Augusta Mall location, have teamed up with Golden Harvest Food Bank through July 30. For each mobile order placed through the Chick-fil-A One app, $1 is being donated to Golden Harvest Food Bank.

Golden Harvest feeds the hungry in 30 counties in Georgia and South Carolina.

“For every $1 donated, we’re able to turn that into $9 of distributed food,” says Travis McNeal, Executive Director of Golden Harvest Food Bank.

The campaign began on June 13.
