Operation Clean City picks up trash around town

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)- A group called Operation Clean City, which usually volunteers to clean up Broad Street after First Friday, is expanding its service to other areas in need.

They invited the public to join them Saturday morning at the Kroc Center for a “flash-mob” trash pickup. About a dozen people went out to show Harrisburg some love by working to keep it beautiful.

“We’ve got the confederate powderworks right here, the Kroc Center…it’s a lot of good stuff going on in this neighborhood, so we just wanted to help it out,” said Glen Ford of Operation Clean City.

The group plans to keep the effort going in other neighborhoods.
