WJBF News Channel 6 has learned more information concerning the seach for a missing Millen woman and the discovery of human remains behind the home she shared with family members.
According to Jenkins County Sheriff Robert Oglesby, the remains found behind a house in Millen on Friday are human remains, but have not been identified as belonging to Ashley Lovett.
Sheriff Oglesby told our Nicole Snyder that the body discovered was burned before being buried, according to statements by Susan Lovett and Chris Lovett who are being questioned in this case. Both Susan and Chris Lovett admit to burning and burying the body, but not being involved in the death.
Sheriff Oglesby said all evidence so far points to the remains being Ashley Lovett.
Ashley Lovett’s father is not involved in this investigation, right now, because there is no proof or statements he did anything, but just agreed with everything going on.
Sheriff Oglesby said he became suspicious of what was going on in January and did a welfare check, but didn’t find anything that could start an investigation or press charges.
Our Nicole Snyder will have more on this developing story during our Monday evening newscasts.
