A newly redesigned intersection in Augusta is raising safety concerns.
The area of concern for some commissioners is where the Deans Bridge going north intersections with the east bound lane of Gordon Highway.
Before the redesign their was a merge lane, for cars turning onto Gordon Highway nut not away more.
Some are calling the situation dangerous and city engineers say they will take a look,
“It’s a change it’s different it will take some people time to get adjusted to it however we met with GDOT and we’re going to take a look at talking out the bump an adding some additional storage we’re going to ask one of our consultants one of our on call consultants to take a look at it,” said Engineering Department Director Abie Ladson.
Ladson said the intersection work passed a design review but said some changes could be made.
