Lineup Change Made To May 17th Bell Auditorium Concert After Merle Haggard’s Death


Augusta, GA (WJBF) – A show scheduled for May 17th at the Bell Auditorium in downtown Augusta featuring country music legend Merle Haggard and acclaimed singer-songwriter Jason Isbell will still go on with Isbell and guest Tommy Emmanuel.

The Bell Auditorium, Jason Isbell, and Tommy Emmanuel are all devastated to hear of the passing of the great Merle Haggard. He will be truly missed by all, but his music lives on forever. The original show of Merle Haggard & Jason Isbell with special guest Tommy Emmanuel on May 17 at The Bell Auditorium is canceled.

For those who purchased tickets for the original May 17 show online and over the phone, refunds will be made automatically within 5-10 business days. For those who purchased tickets with cash at the James Brown Arena Box Office, please return to the venue box office, with the tickets, to receive your refund.

However, the show must go on. Jason Isbell with special guest Tommy Emmanuel will still be performing at The Bell Auditorium on Tuesday, May 17 at 7:30pm. Even if you already bought tickets to the previous show with Merle Haggard, you will need to purchase tickets to attend this show. Tickets go on-sale Friday, April 15 at 10am, and tickets start at $25. We hope you can join us for a wonderful night of music. Let’s all celebrate life and the great Merle Haggard.
