‘Let’s tell her’: Women share stories of inspiration at Girls on the Run of Dayton luncheon

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The motto for this year’s Girls on the Run luncheon was “Let’s tell her she can. Let’s tell her she will.”

The event, emceed by Living Dayton’s Julia Palazzo, serves as the main fundraiser for Girls on the Run of Dayton, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring third through fifth grade girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident.

The organization holds multiple programs throughout the year and also helps the girls’ families, who are often in need of financial assistance.

“Every season, more than half of our girls request financial assistance and therefore, we take it upon ourselves to raise money through the community to make sure that we can offer the opportunity to every single girl,” says Christine Sellman, Board Member of Girls on the Run of Dayton.

2 NEWS had the honor of being a media sponsor for the event.

Girls on the Run will host a celebratory 5K for the end of their latest session participants on May 11 at Fifth Third Field.
