EVANS, Ga. (WJBF) – A citizen’s effort to remove a Grovetown councilman from office has been stopped by a judge.
Last month, Allen Transou filed a petition with the Board of Elections office to recall Councilman Dennis Trudeau.
Wednesday, a judge ruled in favor of Trudeau stating there is not enough evidence of wrongdoing to allow a recall election.
Transou can appeal the judge’s decision, but says he won’t. The Grovetown homeowner says he may run for one of the open city council seats next year.
Trudeau is the step-father of the former city clerk, who resigned during a federal criminal investigation into how she handled water bill payments.
