Investigation Underway Into Deadly Shooting In Appling

Appling, GA (WJBF) – One man is dead after an early morning Thursday morning shooting that happened in Appling, Georgia.

The deadly shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. at a house on North Tubman Road, in Columbia County.

According to Columbia County Sheriff’s Office investigators, Anthony Thomas Sherrill shot and killed his stepson, 23-year-old Tennis Alexander Milam during a domestic dispute.

Deputies say the step-father was on the phone with 911 when the shooting occurred.

Captain Butch Askew, of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, described what happened to us, “Mr. Milam made entry into the bedroom and it appears that he had possessed a handgun at that time and Mr. Sherrill using a handgun he had, shot Mr. Milam.”

Investigators say the incident involved Milam’s girlfriend.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Appling, GA (WJBF) – One man is dead after an early morning shooting.

The victim is identified as Tennis Alexander Milam, age 23.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department, the victim’s stepfather, Anthony Thomas Sherrill, allegedly  fired the deadly shot.

The Coroner pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

So far no charges have been filed.

Appling, GA (WJBF) – Columbia County investigators are piecing together clues in an early morning shooting.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, one person was shot on North Tubman  Road.

It happened about 1:30 Thursday morning.

No word on the name of the victim or if a suspect is in custody.
