Hephzibah Murder Suspect Indicted


WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that the suspect in a March 1st murder in Hephzibah has been indicted.

Richard Manley Ouzts, 59, accused of killing killed 75-year-old Bobby Shue.

Ouzts has been indicted of charges of Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, False Imprisonment, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Investigators say Richard Manley Ouzts held his wife, Deborah, captive inside the home and brutally beat her.

Friend of the property owner tells WJBF News Channel 6, that Deborah was able to get away from her husband after being held against her will for 3 days. The friend says she made it to a neighbor’s home where they called 911 for help.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released a connection between Bobby Shue and the Ouzts family.
