A Harlem man who has run afoul of law enforcement in the past has been charged with Stalking.

Christian Jerome Lavarias, 19, of the 6200 block of Otis Way in Harlem, faces a Misdemeanor Stalking charge after being accused of sending an Evans woman unwanted text messages and pictures on her cell phone. He was arrested by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

According to an incident report, the woman sent Lavarias a text message which read “Stop texting me”, but she says the messages continued.

In August of 2014, Lavarias was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer and false imprisonment. Investigators say that Lavarias pulled over a woman by using sirens and flashing lights on his SUV. The woman told deputies that Lavarias then yelled at her for cutting him off.

A couple of days later, Lavarias sat down exclusively with our Nicole Snyder to tell his side of the story.

Investigators believe he may have done this to others in the area. If you believe he may have done this to you, please call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
