Authorities say two police officers were in serious condition after being wounded in a shooting outside Atlanta where a gunman remained barricaded inside a home.
Grady Memorial Hospital spokeswoman Denise Simpson says the two injured Henry County officers were being treated there Thursday afternoon. Henry County police said on social media that both are in serious condition.
Police said they were called to a neighborhood in Stockbridge about 10:45 a.m. Thursday on a “trouble unknown” call.
By Thursday afternoon, police said a barricaded gunman inside a home was keeping officers at bay. Other details weren’t immediately released.
Police said one of the wounded officers was flown to Grady, and the other was driven there.
Stockbridge is about 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of Atlanta.
