EDGEFIELD, S.C. (WJBF) - A rare treat in Edgefield County Friday night, Luke Bryan is bringing his Farm Tour to the area.
"We love him to death. He's an amazing man," one fan told NewsChannel 6's Shawn Cabbagestalk. Her husband said, " She'll travel anywhere to go see Luke. We went all the way to Macon, Georgia to see him."
Over the last few days, Misty Morning Farms has transformed into a music venue. Fans from all over the region arrived in droves Friday afternoon to see him "Light it up."
"She even got my granddaughter singin' and lovin' Luke Bryan," a fan said."
In preparation for the event, officers blocked off several roads in the area. "We're going to be getting everyone in and out the facility from I-20, from exit 5 and exit 1 off 1-20," Trooper Justin Sutherland with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. "We're going to have traffic control points set up," he added.
Aiken County officials will be supporting the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office by providing security and supporting their law enforcement measures.
Edgefield County public schools were closed but not all were. One man who was turned around at one of the closed roads said he had to pick up his granddaughter the local private school.
Areas around Misty Morning farms saw tailgaters all day. Local radio station Kicks 99 hosted a VIP party for the event.
A neighbor seizing the moment opened his land in front of the farm to campers.
Everyone just excited about what the possibilities are.
"We're thrilled in Edgefield County to host it because thousands of people are going to enter our county for the first time and get a glimpse of how beautiful our county is," farm owner Scott Cooper said.
All just wanting to get a glimpse at the "Country Man" "Play it again"
We did learn that extra personnel will be on hand, like EMTs and firefighters, just in case fans need them.
