Tennessee deputy shot, killed; Search ongoing for armed subject

A Dickson County Sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed early Wednesday morning, according to a high-ranking official with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

A police source says the deputy tried to stop a driver with an expired tag around 7 a.m.. A short chase took place and then shots were exchanged. 

The deputy was killed. 

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is hunting for the suspect identified as Steven Wiggins. They say he’s armed and dangerous.
