GREENE COUNTY, GA — The Taliaferro County sheriff is recovering after a car accident in Greene County, Georgia Thursday night.
Georgia state troopers say Sheriff Marc Richards was driving westbound down I-20 near exit 138 when he hit the back of a white pickup truck that had slowed down because of a construction zone.
Troopers say the sheriff’s truck then hit the back of an 18-wheeler.
Investigators say the sheriff told them he was distracted because he was looking for something in his vehicle.
Richards received minor injuries in the crash. He was the only one injured.
