UPDATE, 6:17 P.M. – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in the murder of 16-year-old Kaymaya Greene.
19-year-old Demarcus Clark is being charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
Clark allegedly shot Greene in her upper torso.
This case is still being actively investigated. More details will be provided as they come available.
UPDATE, 4:23 P.M. – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the victim that was shot and later died.
According to authorities, Kaymaya Greene, 16, was transported to Augusta University Medical Center after being shot and was pronounced dead at 6:41 A.M.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
AUGUSTA (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of another shooting.
Authorities responded to the Economy Inn located at 3061 Deans Bridge Road around 6:07 Wednesday morning.
Upon arrival, Deputies located a female who had been shot at least one time in her leg.
Richmond County Coroner, Mark Bowen, confirms the victim has died. Her name has not been released.
