A Richmond County Deputy is off the job after an investigation revealed he had been allegedly taking payments from a local club while on duty.

James Bryan Ouzts was reportedly paid $500 to work security at the Private Eye Nightclub on Thomas Lane on October 5th and 16th by the owner of the club. This was while Ouzts was working his regular on-duty assignment.

The practice is commonly referred to as ‘double dipping’.

After an internal investigation into the matter, Ouzts was fired on October 26th.

Ouzts turned himself in at the Webster Detention Center and is charged with Felony Violation of Oath by Public Officer and Misdemeanor Theft by Deception.
