The person of interest in the murder of a Columbia County woman has been sentenced to prison in a separate, unrelated case.
In March, Christopher Gibson was sentenced to 10 years in prison for felony shoplifting. On Wednesday, he was sentnced to Life plus 82 years for 7 violent charges.
This includes:
- Life for Armed Robbery
- 2 years for Kidnapping
- 30 years for Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony
- 20 years for Aggravated Assault
- 20 years for Aggravated Assault
- 5 years for Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
- 5 years for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
This was in relation to a 2017 robbery and attempted rape of a Subway employee.
Gibson has not been charged in the death of Andrya DeGhelder, who’s body was found in a dumpster in Columbia County in 2018.
He was named a person of interest shortly after.
