One person arrested and charged in Hephzibah subdivision shooting

One man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in a Hephzibah subdivision.

42-year-old Cheiron Nathaniel Hammond is charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

Hammond allegedly shot one person during an altercation on Crosscreek Road off Woodcock Road.

Investigators say the victim was shot in the leg.

The victim was then reportedly driven to the parking lot of Family Dollar on the 2800 block of Tobacco Road.

Afterwards, they were taken to AU Medical Center for treatment.
