BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Two people are facing charges in connection with an firearm incident that left a teenager injured.

Burke County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 360 Usher Road in Waynesboro Wednesday evening in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found a 14-year-old was shot in the leg.

The victim was taken to Burke County Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators say the suspect, Jasper Edward Reynolds, was reportedly playing with a firearm in a room where the teen was located.

Reynolds and the teen told on-scene investigators a story involving an individual that ended up not existing.

Further interviews led investigators to arrest and charged Reynolds and Krystal Marie Prickett.

Reynolds is charged with Reckless Conduct and Making False Statements.

Prickett is charged with Making False Statements and Giving a False Name or Date of Birth.

The teen victim was turned over to Chatham County DFACS due to being reported as a runaway.

This is a developing story.
