Suspect arrested in deadly shooting on Alpine Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - UPDATE: The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says it has arrested the suspect for a weekend murder.

Jamal Montrell Moss was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.

He is currently being booked into the Webster Detention Center, charged with Murder and Weapon Possession. 


Investigators are searching for a suspect in a deadly late-night shooting in Augusta.

It happened Sunday shortly after 10:30 p.m. at the Alpine Villas apartments on the 3100 block of Alpine Road.

According to Coroner Mark Bowen, the victim is identified as 24-year-old Mishon Robinson.

Robinson was reportedly shot at least once. 

He was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead around 11:11 p.m.

Robinson reportedly lived at the apartment with his girlfriend.

Just hours before the shooting, an unknown person called 9-1-1 dispatch regarding an argument.

Investigators have identified 20-year-old Jamal Montrell Moss as the suspect.

Moss is known to frequent the apartment complexes on the 3200 block of Wrightsboro Road.

He is considered armed & dangerous.
