MCDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – The McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of ‘clown sightings’ in the area.

The county’s 911 Center received 2 calls reporting the sighting of a ‘clown’.

Just before midnight on Sunday, a caller reported seeing a clown on State Highway 221 between Hobbs Road and the Jefferson/McDuffie County line. They said that the clown was just standing by the roadside.

The second call came early Tuesday morning, just after 6:30 a.m., when a caller reported a clown chasing children from a school bus stop in the Davis Circle area.

Deputies investigated both sightings but found no evidence leading to a person responsible.

The Sheriff’s Office is taking these sightings seriously and are working to find the individuals responsible.

In August, reports of ‘clown sightings’ were rampant for a number of South Carolina neighborhoods, reportedly attempting to lure children into the woods.

No suspects were found in those cases.
