Chatham County evacuation order lifted

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The mandatory evacuation order for Georgia’s coastal counties is now lifted.

These evacuees who boarded busses just days ago to flee from the storm, can now return home.

The evacuees are currently staying in schools in Augusta.

They will be bussed back to Chatham County starting Thursday afternoon and will continue into Friday.

Richmond County schools will reopen on Monday.
