Verizon Wireless says it fixed an issue to text services.
A company spokesperson confirmed the outage.
In an email sent just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Kate Jay with Verizon Wireless said the issue had been resolved.
“We experienced an issue impacting texting services for some customers this morning. Our engineers were able to identify and resolve the issue quickly. Service is now fully restored,” Jay said.
According to DownDetector.com, more than 4,000 Verizon users reported problems.
Verizon said in a tweet earlier Tuesday that the texting outage affected a “ton of customers” on the East Coast.
